Matt Laing- Viola
Matt Laing is a Melbourne based freelance viola player, playing casually with Orchestra Victoria, Tasmanian Symphony, Melbourne Symphony, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra and Victorian Opera and as a member of the Australian Octet. Appearances as soloist have included works of Percy Grainger with the Consort of Melbourne at the Recital Centre, and the first complete performance in Australia of Morton Feldman's “The Viola in My Life” with the orchestra of the Australian National Academy of Music. As violist of the Auric quartet, Matt has featured at the Perth, Melbourne, Dunkeld and Bermagui Four Winds festivals, collaborating with, amongst others, the Australian String Quartet and Giovanni Sollima. 

Luke Carbon- Clarinets
Luke Carbon is a freelance woodwind multi-instrumentalist. He graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium where he studied on a Sir Samuel Griffith Scholarship and was awarded the Ross Peters 4MBS Chamber Music Prize. He has appeared with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, and Victorian Opera, and his theatre credits include West Side Story and Nice Work If You Can Get It for The Production Company and The Sound of Music for The Really Useful Group. He has appeared as soloist with the Melbourne Metropolitan Sinfonietta and the Peter de Jager Festival Orchestra, and has been recorded on clarinet and saxophone for radio and television broadcast for the ABC, the MBS networks, and triple j.

Zachary Johnston- Violin
Australian contemporary violinist, string educator, and random mandolinist, Zachary Johnston is a member of several new music ensembles including Arcko Symphonic Project, 3 Shades Black, 6º ensemble, Bolt Ensemble, and was a founding member of string quartet Atticus. As part of long-term research Zac is investigating into how curiosity and New Music is integrated into pedagogy, particularly in violin studies. Zac was recently offered a scholarship to work with Walter Thompson with an aim to incorporate the live compositional technique of 'Soundpainting' into education and performances in Australia. Zac has performed with Argonaut for the Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music (BIFEM) since 2013, at the 2014 Internationales Musikinstitut Darmstadt and the 2015 Bang on a Can Summer Festival at MASS MoCA.
